Rajinikanth‘s most anticipated sequel Jailer 2 directed by Nelson Dilipkumar is gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release on October 15th as a Dussehra special.

With only a few weeks left until the release, the makers of Jailer 2 have started releasing promotional materials from the film. So far, a single, a special release date announcement glimpse and three character reveal glimpses have been released.

While the special release date announcement glimpse was a viral hit, the first single and the character reveal glimpses did not create the expected impact and went unnoticed.

In this scenario, the makers of Jailer 2 have recently announced that an update regarding the second single from the film will be dropped tomorrow with a special poster.

A few months ago, Jailer 2 was considered the most anticipated project in Kollywood and many believed that it would easily achieve the 1000 crore mark and become the first 1000 crore grosser in Kollywood.

However, those expectations are slowly diminishing, as the updates and glimpses released from the film were not up to expectations. Consequently, the hype surrounding the sequel is fading. Therefore, the success of the second single, which will be released in a few days, is crucial to regaining the lost hype.

The original Jailer also faced poor pre-release buzz because it was Rajinikanth’s immediate release following the terrible failure of Annaatthe. At the time, the makers of Jailer dropped the single Hukum, composed by Anirudh Ravichander. It became a viral hit and single handedly accelerated the hype for Jailer. Even now, many trade experts claim that the major reason for the massive success of Jailer was the Hukum song.

Hence, Jailer 2 also needs that Hukum impact to regain its hype. Subsequently, the fate of Jailer 2 is now in the hands of Anirudh and we have to wait and watch whether the second single will become a massive success, helping Jailer 2 regain its lost hype upon release.
