Glowing reviews but slow box office for Baby

Baby has opened to glowing reviews from all the major critics and even the audience who have seen the film have good things to say about it. However the numbers which all matters for films like these aren’t adding up to the praises it has been getting.

Baby on its opening day has got low numbers considering the number of prints it has been released in. There was marginal growth on its second day but still due to the weak number on opening day it isn’t looking really good. The big hope now for the film is to take advantage of extended weekend with Republic Day holiday and post respectable extended- weekend numbers.

The subject of the film seems to be the problem for this opening according to the trade. Add to it the weak phase of lead actor Akshay Kumar, the product doesn’t seem that hot for general moviegoer. But as the word of mouth is good, the trade is hoping for a big pick up since the industry is in dire need of a big hit as soon as possible.
