Haasan’s Temple of Learning

Kamal Haasan is known in the entire film world as a versatile and talented actor and in a recent interview this talented actor shared his views about cinema as whole. Haasan was in the city for the inauguration of 19 Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) and Kolkata according to Haasan holds a special position as far as cinema is concerned. Film societies have been born in Kolkata and the latest film festival; all these are close to Haasan’s heart.

As for film festivals, Kamal Haasan is of the view that film festivals are temples of learning where he went to learn. And it is probably true since Haasan never went to an institute and calls himself an “extramural student of cinema.”Kamal’s earlies memories have been of cinema and he has been learning via the medium of studios, film festivals and films.
