HanuMan is one of the exciting pan-Indian outings from Telugu cinema and the trailer for the film was unveiled a little while ago. The first thing that catches the attention is the grade-A technical values. The visual presentation and the soundtrack are bang on point.
The trailer hints that the film is a tale of two extremes. While the HanuMan character is deeply rooted in Hindu mythology, the antagonists appear to be from a faraway land and look extremely futuristic. This is the kind of stuff that instantly connects with the kids.
There’s something in it for everyone. The elevation blocks centered around HanuMan and Lord Shree Ram have a strong Hindutva vibe and they stand out. Sanskrit shlokas are used to create elevation background music and this blends well.
The main man, Teja looks fitting in the role of Hanuman. This isn’t the kind of character a budding hero usually gets so there is a lot of potential for the talented actor with this film. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar is seen in an important character. Get-up Sreenu appears to be the one providing comical relief.
The making values are on a pan-India scale. Director Prasanth Varma is a creative filmmaker and he appears to have blended two extremes – mythology and futurism for the film. It will all depend on how this comes together on the big screens.
The film is set for release on the 12th of January, marking this Sankranthi season. It is being released in multiple languages, given the universal appeal it possesses.
