Happiness Shortlived: Tollywood Looking For Motivation!

The Telugu film industry has shown signs of recovery at the start of August. We have SR Kalyana Mandapam becoming a hit infusing confidence in the filmmakers. We have a slew of movies releasing with the inspiration. Except for Raja Raja Chora, nothing has worked.

Even Raja Raja Chora did not perform up to its full potential. The industry started losing steam once again from the last week of August. Ichata Vahanamulu Nilupa Radu and Sridevi Soda Center failed to entice the audience bringing a sense of gloom.

Last week releases – Dear Megha and Nootokka Jillala Andagadu made things even worse. The ongoing weekend is seeing show cancellations due to poor response. Now all eyes are on Gopichand’s Seetimaar which releases on September 10th as Vinayaka Chaviti Special.

The trade hopes the movie clicks and brings the masses to the theaters. We also have a challenge of two biggies – Tuck Jagadish and Maestro releasing on OTT which may also dissuade audience from coming to theaters.
