Can Hasith Goli & Dil Raju Pull Siddhu Out of the Trap?

Director Hasith Goli’s journey in the Telugu film industry has been a mixed bag till now. Raja Raja Chora performed very well commercially and established him as a promising filmmaker. However, Swag failed at the box office. Audiences felt the film was confusing, though a section of viewers appreciated Hasith’s attempt to try something different.

Now, Hasith Goli is preparing a new story. There are reports that he may team up with Siddhu Jonnalagadda. Industry talk suggests that producer Dil Raju might produce this film. The script work is currently in progress, and there is a good chance that an official announcement will come soon. Hasith reportedly has once again designed a story with a fresh backdrop and lots of humor.

At present, Siddhu is working on a film with Agent Sai Srinivas Athreya director Swaroop RSJ. Films like Bad Ass and Kohinoor are also under production, though their timelines remain unclear. There is also a strong chance that Tillu Cube may go on floors by the end of this year.

Siddhu Jonnalagadda is one of the most talented actors in Telugu cinema today. DJ Tillu created a solid market for him and changed his career path. However, Siddhu now carries the responsibility of moving beyond the Tillu image. His recent film Telusu Kada was a disaster at the box office. The film’s Netflix release also triggered unexpected backlash against him. Though no one can match him as DJ Tillu, he must now prove his versatility.

Hasith Goli understands today’s audience well, but his inconsistency remains a concern. At the same time, Siddhu is known for involving himself deeply in the creative process, as seen in the Tillu franchise. If both of them manage to balance their weaknesses and strengthen each other’s positives, this combination could result in a genuinely interesting and refreshing film. Also, we have to see if Hasith Goli and Dil Raju can pull Siddhu out of the DJ Tillu trap and give him a successful film outside the Tillu franchise.
