Heeramandi Backlash: Bhansali Changes Track

Heeramandi is one of the most talked about shows in recent times. The series by Sanjay Leela Bhansali on Netflix is one of the most brutally trolled web series on social media.

Bhansali received a lot of hate and criticism for glorifying prostitutes, glamorizing brothels, and casing untalented actors like Sharmin Segal in the show.

His statement that he finds prostitutes more fascinating than simple middle-class women was found highly objectionable by many.

For the first time in his career, Bhansali faced such brutal trolling for his work.

Now Bhansali is making Love and War, which features Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal in lead roles. It seems Bhansali has decided to change his track and his trademark style of filmmaking after the backlash he received for Heeramandi.

Describing “Love and War,” Bhansali revealed that it’s a departure from his usual style, focusing on a contemporary love story rather than the grandeur and opulence of Heeramandi.

He said he now wants to explore new territories as a filmmaker.

Love and War is going to be a triangular love story in Bollywood after a long time.
