Heroine’s Failed Experiment: Will Prabhas Save?

Malavika Mohanan is one of South industry’s hottest beauties. She is extremely popular among the youth for her glamorous off-screen appearances and sultry photoshoots.

However, as an actress, she has done various films in the last few years but none of them worked big time for her. Even her films with big heroes like Rajinikanth, Vijay, and Dhanush couldn’t give much boost to her career.

Recently, Malavika tried to reinvent herself with a new role in Thangalaan, directed by Pa Ranjith, where she plays Aarathi, a sorceress who defends her land from exploitation. Her performance received decent reviews, and her dedication was praised. However, the film hasn’t significantly boosted her career.

The film has been received as average at the box office, based on the initial three-day collections. While some viewers appreciated it, many felt it was a wasted effort.

Thangalaan struggled in Telugu and Hindi markets, and despite Malavika’s hopes for a positive response from Hindi audiences, her performance went largely unnoticed.

Overall, Malavika’s experiment didn’t turn out as planned. She is now set to appear in The Raja Saab alongside Prabhas.

Directed by Maruthi, the film promises a different character for Malavika, contrasting with her previous roles. In recent promotions, she expressed excitement about showcasing her talents in a substantial role and appreciated the opportunity to work with Prabhas and Maruthi.

The Raja Saab, produced by People Media Factory and featuring a supporting cast that includes Nidhhi Agerwal, Riddhi Kumar, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and others, is set for a grand release on April 10, 2025, across multiple languages.

Let’s see if Prabhas can deliver the breakthrough for Malavika that other big heroes couldn’t.
