Indian Box Office Saviors: Two Unexpected Superhits

Mission Impossible – The Final Reckoning has made a strong start at the Indian box office, earning 17 crores net on its first day. This is the highest Day 1 opening for the franchise in India.

It beat the previous record set by Dead Reckoning (2023), which opened at around 12 crores. The strong response, especially from South India and premium multiplexes, helped push the numbers higher. The Saturday release also worked in its favor.

If the film had released on a Friday, the numbers might have been slightly lower. Now, with just a two-day weekend, all eyes are on Sunday’s performance.

Since Monday isn’t a holiday, the usual boost from a “third day” won’t be there. The film is aiming to become the biggest Mission Impossible title in India, but the short weekend could be a hurdle.

On the other hand, Final Destination: Bloodlines is surprising everyone. The horror film has collected 15 crores net over three days and could hit 20+ crores in four days.

This is a big deal for the Final Destination series, which hasn’t had much presence in Indian theatres before. Despite clashing with Mission Impossible, it held strong on Saturday.

Overall, both Hollywood films are doing well — with Mission Impossible in the lead and Final Destination turning into a surprise hit.
