Hollywood takes lead over Indian films

This Friday the Hollywood movie 300 – Rise of an Empire has taken over the Indian releases across the nation. Be it the Hindi films or the Telugu and Tamil films everywhere the Hollywood big budget action flick has taken bigger opening compared to the local films. In Hindi three films released with well known names being part of the cast but none of them managed to decent opening. In fact the trade is saying that the combined collections of these three films, on day 1 have been less than 300 – Rise of an Empire.

Similarly in Telugu the dubbed version of the film took bigger opening compared to Bangaru Kodi Petta which starred our local actors. A film like Nuvve Naa Banagaram was nowhere in the picture as far as openings were concerned. A Hollywood taking a better opening than the local films has happened after a long time in India.
