Hyd Paan Shops turning menace for betting

The cricket fever is gripping the entire country as India went to win 5 games on a trot in the ongoing World Cup. Hyderabad is no exception for this fever. Along with the hype and anticipation, the cricket betting is also hitting peaks this season.

Earlier the betting on cricket matches was carried out from the rooms of five-star hotels or from duplexes in posh colonies of the city. But now the numerous Paan shops in the cities are becoming hubs of this menace.

It is said that most Paan shop owners earn money equal to what they earn in the entire year in this season it self. On a match day in which India is playing, the betting money go in to surprise figures at each Paan shop. It is said that the number of such shops in the city is over 30, largely in Dhoolpet and Begum Bazar
