I beats Lingaa in US

Tamil and South Indian biggie I has started its record breaking spree. The film is getting a record release in US overtaking that of Lingaa, according to trade. The release includes both Telugu and Tamil version.

I is directed by Shankar and the film along with director is in direct competition with Superstar Rajinikanth’s recently released film Lingaa and previous films directed by Shankar himself. There are fans on either side who wants to know who the bigger box office puller is? Rajini did a film recently with out of form director and now Shankar is coming with an out of form actor – this has made the comparison even.

The hype and craze on I and the release its getting shows that Shankar is on par pre release of the film. Will he set the precedent post release as well?
