India sues England for precious diamond

Kohinoor diamond which is one of the World’s largest-known diamond was stolen out of India by the British and it currentyl a part of Britain’s crown jewels. India is fighting to bring it back for quite some time but England turned the demand down on couple of occasions.

Few Bollywood stars and businessmen have united begin legal proceedings in London’s High Court to return the prized diamond. They are demanding that the Queen should return the 105-carat diamond which was stolen from its true home in India.

The lawyers fighting for the case base their case on the Holocaust (Return of Cultural Objects) Act, which gives national institutions in the UK the power to return stolen art. The trial will begin very soon.
