Recently, a strong speculation that pending work on Kamal Haasan’s shelved project Indian 3, under the direction of Shankar, is going to restart soon and that the film will hit screens shortly, went viral on social media.

Following the rumors, many people grew curious about when shooting would begin and expected an update from the production house, but there have not been any official clarifications regarding it.

Consequently, many people started claiming that the rumors were fake and it seems Indian 3 will never be released in theaters.

In light of this, some Kollywood insiders clarified that 20 days of shooting remain for Indian 3 and that work will resume only after the production house clears the pending salaries of Kamal Haasan and Shankar.

Furthermore, there is information that Indian 3 will be even bigger than Indian 2 and the makers believe Indian 3 might emerge as a successful venture upon its release.

In response to this update, while some feel Lyca Productions is wasting money by investing in Indian 3 and suggest releasing it as-is on digital platforms, others feel the opposite.

They claim that even though Indian 2 ended up as a terrible failure, Indian 3 still has the scope to make an impact. This is because, during the release of Indian 2, many insider sources confirmed that Indian 3 contains the actual plotline Shankar originally wanted to present, but due to the long runtime, the team messed it up by adding a huge chunk of setup into Indian 2.

Hence, by pointing this out, they claim there is a strong possibility for Indian 3 to surprise the audience and if the makers execute proper promotions and release it with sufficient hype, Indian 3 has a great chance to make a solid impact at the box office.

However, all of these are just social media discussions and there is still no clarity on Indian 3’s release. Therefore, it remains to be seen whether the makers will restart the pending work soon and whether the film will emerge as a surprise blockbuster upon its release.
