In the next three years, Yash Raj Films (YRF) plans to collaborate with the biggest stars like Hrithik Roshan, Jr. NTR, Alia Bhatt, Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, and Salman Khan.
After a lull during the COVID-19 pandemic, the studio made a strong comeback with Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan. Now, YRF is ready to roll out an impressive lineup of nine feature films over the next three years, starting in 2025.
The slate begins with War 2, featuring Hrithik Roshan, NTR Jr, Kiara Advani, and Anil Kapoor. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, this highly anticipated film is set for release over the Independence Day weekend in 2025 and is expected to be a massive box office tornado.
Following this is Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt, Sharvari, Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor, which will debut on Christmas.
Shah Rukh Khan will reprise his role in Pathaan 2, slated for a late 2025 or early 2026 shoot, aiming for a 2027 release.
YRF is also working on the much-anticipated Tiger vs Pathaan. The studio is waiting for shoot dates from SRK and Salman Khan to finalize this epic face-off.
However, for all these plans to come together, the success of WAR 2 is absolutely crucial. The collaboration between Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR must deliver exceptional results to generate the necessary hype and excitement for subsequent films.
If WAR 2 disappoints, much like Salman Khan’s Tiger 3, which was a huge flop, it could ruin the entire SPY Universe.
In that scenario, future projects might either be shelved or require extensive reworking.
Therefore, the stakes are high, and WAR 2 needs to perform well to ensure the momentum of this cinematic universe continues.
