Industry Panics Over Prasanth Varma’s 33 Scripts

Prasanth Varma has been delivering successful films at regular intervals as a director. He started with Awe, which did decent business, and then came Kalki, which flopped. He redeemed himself with Zombie Reddy.

However, he hit the big league with this year’s Hanu Man, which turned out to be a huge blockbuster. He has now lined up big films, including one with Prabhas, as per reports. He also keeps offering scripts written by him to other filmmakers.

One such script was Devaki Nandana Vasudeva, starring Ashok Galla. Prasanth Varma provided the story for the film.

Unfortunately, the film turned out to be completely lifeless and monotonous. The film is a total washout at the box office.

It’s not as if the story was good and the direction and execution ruined it. The story by Prasanth Varma himself was too predictable from the start. The film follows a routine story that goes through the motions, checking all the expected boxes. Everything feels formulaic rather than organic.

Prasanth Varma completely failed as a writer in this case.

Recently, he claimed to have written 33 scripts ready to go on shoot, proudly stating that he has a “story factory” and is offering them to filmmakers in need of stories.

However, if his stories are like Devaki Nandana Vasudeva’s, then makers should be cautious. While he may boast about having 33 finished scripts, many of them might be on the same level as this one, formulaic and outdated.

Filmmakers should carefully evaluate the stories Prasanth Varma provides and not blindly trust his name alone. Not all scripts from any writer are equally good.

Prasanth Varma should also take a step back and reassess whether the other scripts he has written are similar to Devaki Nandana Vasudeva’s in terms of quality. If they are, he should throw them in the trash immediately.
