Is Amitabh promoting false beliefs?

Amitabh Bachchan often seems to fall prey to social causes. This time, it is regarding an advertisement in which the actor allegedly promotes some false beliefs. An activist seems to have taken an exception to this ad and has in fact filed a complaint against the senior actor.

The activist in question is Hemant Patil and he also demanded for a police case to be filed against the film star under the Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice Act.

It is important here to note that the advertisement is about the nutrition drink Complan (above picture) where Big B once again dons the character of the helpful ghost from his movie Bhootnath and its sequel. Hemant complains that the ad promotes the idea of ghosts and superstitions and also the advertisement lacks any disclaimer before or after the broadcast. This is just an other example of any thing celebrities get associated with could run them in issues these days.
