Is this a Title or a statement?

Mostly films and stories carry very short effective titles unless the writer has other intentions behind choosing long titles. One can’t surely say that only short titles are attractive. One of the title of Nani’s upcoming movie is presently in discussion for its length. It is learnt that Nani’s combo movie with Hanu Raghavapudi of Andala Rakshasi fame is titled ‘Mahalakshmi tho Pelliki 150kms Dooram’.

Though long titles are rare for Telugu Films, some of the makers of sensible films did use them for their movies. Popular cartoonist turned film maker Bapu made a film starring superstar Krishna and Jaypradha titled ‘Sri Rajeshwari Vilaas coffee Club’. And sensible director Vamshi made a film with senior Naresh with another long title ‘Sri Kanaka Mahalakshmi Recording Dance Troupe’.

The most recent is Srikanth Addala’s ‘Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’. All the above mentioned film makers belong to Godavari districts and the flavour reflects in those long titles which proved effective. Going by the choice of the title, Hanu raghavapudi though hails from Khammam district, seems to have inherited the flavour from his mentor Yeleti Chandra Sekhar who hails from Tuni, East Godavari district.
