Jailer 2 Gets A, Now Rajinikanth Has a Problem?

Jailer 2 censor certificate update

Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is reportedly facing a censor hurdle just weeks before its scheduled release. The Nelson Dilipkumar directorial has reportedly received an A certificate from the censor board, creating a fresh problem for the makers.

The A certificate could be a concern for a film like Jailer 2, which is expected to depend heavily on Rajinikanth’s massive family and general audience following. An adults-only certification naturally limits the audience compared to a U/A certificate.

According to the latest buzz, Rajinikanth is reportedly not happy with the A certificate and wants the film to receive a U/A certificate instead. The actor is said to be unwilling to release the film with an A rating, putting the makers in a difficult position so close to the release date.

There is also a recent precedent. Rajinikanth’s Coolie received an A certificate last year, with the makers choosing to retain the certification rather than make extensive cuts that could affect the film.

Jailer 2 is currently scheduled to hit theatres on October 15. If the A certificate reports are true, the makers now have a crucial decision to make. Will they accept the A certificate, or go back to the censor board seeking U/A?

For a film carrying this much hype, the censor hurdle has arrived at an inconvenient time.
