Rajinikanth‘s most anticipated sequel Jailer 2 directed by Nelson Dilipkumar is gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release on October 15th as a Dussehra special. With only a few weeks left until the release, the makers of Jailer 2 have already started releasing promotional material from the film.

So far, the Jailer 2 team has released a special release date announcement promo, 3 character glimpses and 2 singles from the film. Among all these, only the special release date announcement promo became a viral hit, whereas the other promotional materials didn’t satisfy the audience’s expectations and went largely unnoticed.

One of the major reasons for the massive opening of the original Jailer was Anirudh’s powerful composition, the song Hukum and Rajinikanth’s speech at the grand audio launch function.

Consequently, many people expected that Anirudh would deliver a powerful single like Hukum for Jailer 2 as well and they also eagerly awaited updates regarding the Jailer 2 audio launch.

Shockingly, it seems the makers of Jailer 2 have planned not to conduct a traditional audio launch function. Instead, they are planning a rave audio party featuring Anirudh’s performance and will release the entire Jailer 2 album on September 30th. Recently, the makers of Jailer 2 shared an official announcement regarding this.

Even though they haven’t officially confirmed that the audio launch function will not happen, following the announcement of the audio party, many Rajinikanth fans themselves have come to the conclusion that there will be no traditional audio launch for Jailer 2.

Subsequently, they started criticizing the makers on social media, suggesting that Sun Pictures is wasting a potential blockbuster without proper promotions and expressing concern that they are deliberately underplaying it. They feel that skipping the audio launch function is a big mistake and they suggest that if the audio launch function happens, it would accelerate the hype of Jailer 2 to the next level.

Fans claim that Sun Pictures’ promotional efforts are far too low for Jailer 2, noting that even Lokesh Kanagaraj’s DC was promoted very well. Therefore, they are urging the makers to step up promotions in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, some feel that after the underperformance of Coolie, Sun Pictures is intentionally underplaying the promotions for Jailer 2 to avoid creating over expectations for the film.

However, it remains to be seen how Sun Pictures will promote Jailer 2 in the upcoming weeks and whether the film will post record-breaking numbers upon its release.
