Jailer Director Insulted Telugu Heroes?

Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer is creating a box-office frenzy everywhere, positioning itself to become the biggest blockbuster of 2023 in the Tamil industry.

Despite the film’s success in the Telugu states, a small portion of the Telugu audience who have seen Jailer are discontented with the director.

Director Nelson incorporated a mindless comedy segment, featuring Telugu comedian Sunil playing a dumb hero role from Andhra Pradesh and subtitles too shown in Overseas prints read mocking Telugu star heroes who are doing mindless masala films.

This comedy block portraying a Telugu hero as dumb occupies a significant duration in the second half.

This has angered a section of Telugu fans questioning Tamil director Nelson, how he came up with the idea of continuous mockery of a Telugu hero during the second half using a known Telugu comdian.

Luckily for him, this didn’t didn’t escalate to a controversy. Nelson is lucky to have escaped this time. Nonetheless, he should now recognize that when targeting the Telugu market, it’s a dumb idea to ridicule Telugu heroes.
