Jailer Trailer: Feels like Basha 2

Superstar Rajnikanth is back with another new project, Jailer, and the trailer is out. Going by the trailer, it is clear that the makers are testing Superstar’s blockbuster and memorable commercial hit, Basha (1995 formula again.

While the trailer looks decent technically, supported by Anirudh’s work and action bits, one can’t avoid feeling the rehash of an old plot.

Jailer is written and directed by Nelson, who recently delivered a dud, ‘Beast,’ with Vijay. Jailer is a crucial film for him to deliver.

Is there more than a Basha rehash? Will there be more commercial elements that will excite the current times? That’s what decides how strongly Jailer can beat the box office.
