A few days ago, Vijay’s final film, Jana Nayagan directed by H Vinoth was leaked online and became the talk of the town, with many people from the Kollywood industry voicing their concerns against its piracy.
Immediately after Jana Nayagan was leaked, the makers of the film filed a complaint with the cybercrime department and officials started an investigation. Accordingly, after police officials conducted an extensive investigation, they arrested three freelance editors, claiming they were the primary reason for the leak.
In this scenario, one of the three arrested individuals named Uma Shankar, recently approached the Madras High Court for anticipatory bail, claiming that he was not part of this leak and that he had not even watched the leaked version of the film. Furthermore, in the plea, he mentioned that he is a heart patient and would appear whenever needed for further investigations.
This anticipatory bail plea came for a hearing this evening. After hearing arguments from both sides, the justice decided to provide a judgment on this bail on April 30th, after the production firm files an Impleading petition.
However, it remains to be seen how this case progresses and whether the justice approves the anticipatory bail for the suspect upon the next hearing on April 30th.
