Trailer Talk: Too Big For Comedian’s Shoes

Films starring comedians as heroes are made with a simple narrative that works to the advantage of the comedian. The narrative highlights the comedy aspect which is the mantra for success. Srinivas Reddy’s debut as hero Geetanjali was a perfect example for that.

With Jayammu Nischayammu Raa one gets a feeling that he has taken a role, a character that is too big for his shoes. It requires good screen presence as a hero or acting chops to pull off a narrative that is meant for a regular actor. One can see within the trailer itself how misfit Srinivas Reddy looks. Krishna Bhagwan looks more dominating than him in the trailer . That’s what happens when one doesn’t play to the strengths. Things could be better in the actual film but as far as the trailer that’s the impression one gets, a decent story where the hero is a misfit.
