Jersey: Long Batting Expected in the US

Movie-starved cine-lovers are literally rushing themselves to theatres to watch ‘Jersey’ after a long gap of no theatrical releases due to the elections. In the US, ‘Jersey’ is enjoying a dream run as there is no other potential release to hurt it till Mahesh Babu’s ‘Maharshi’ comes to theatres on 9th May. Till then, ‘Jersey’ will have the field all for itself.

Nikhil’s ‘Arjun Suravaram’ is expected to come two weeks from now and to be honest, that wouldn’t have any impact on ‘Jersey’. So, a long run is expected for ‘Jersey’ in the US. If we look back at the recent past, it was only ‘Geetha Govindam’ that enjoyed five weeks of continuous run with decent figures being posted every week and finally, ended up with a whopping $2.4 million. A big figure for a medium budget movie like it.

Now, going by the rating, the word of mouth and the fact that there will be no releases for a couple of weeks, ‘Jersey‘ is expected to stick to the crease and have a long batting at the box-office in the US. Premiere shows and the Friday figures are pretty decent as they will be over $350 K. A long and consistent batting would make the buyers happier than they are now. Of course, they are very happy about the positive word of mouth and the critical acclaim the movie has been receiving.
