Kabali’s MD breaks the Superstar’s Tradition

Superstar Rajnikanth’s films had been following the tradition of having a song sung by the legendary singer S.P.Balasubramanyam and that too a title song for the superstar. His voice has a grand feel to the title song always.

But ‘Kabali’s music director Santosh Narayan has broken the tradition and roped in young singers and a Malayasian rapper, Roshan Jamrock to sing the title track in the form of a rap for Rajnikanth’s title song. The sound track thus got a refreshing youth feel.

But an intro song in SP Balu’s voice used to be apt for the larger than life persona of the superstar. It has been a tradition for nearly 20 years. Nevertheless, the audio is getting good response because of its youthful and soulful renditions.
