She Was Called a Russian Prostitute

It’s a world where people become judgemental easily when it comes to actresses in the glamour field. Sharing her experiences when she was new in the film industry, Bollywood Kalki Koechlin revealed her share of implicit harassment.

She was fair-skinned because she was born to French parents in Pondicherry in India. Though she can speak fluent Hindi, she was called a Russian Prostitute in one of the articles that were written about her when she was in the initial days of her career.

It’s not the random people but the judgemental mentality of the media and her own people in the industry who said such words. Over the years, the actress grew thicker-skinned and feels that it’s her superpower today is that she stopped reading that kind of stuff, anymore.

Kalki too has her moments of #MeToo when a producer asked her out for a date when she was actually seeing someone. There was no callback from the producer and the film didn’t happen for her.
