Kamal Haasan calls out to nine million people

Actor Kamal Haasan is known for his social activities through his fan clubs over the years. On Thursday, he was nominated by PM Narendra Modi along with actors such as Priyanka Chopra and Salman Khan to be a part of Clean India Campaign. Kamal humbly accepted the invitation and said he won’t stop with inviting nine more people and instead invite nine million people more.

“I thank our honourable PM for naming me among this august list. I don’t think it’s a new duty I’ve been appointed but it’s a recognition of what I’ve already been doing. It’s not nine more I will nominate. I invite nine million more people. I have been doing this cleansing for the last two decades through my fans who have converted the fan clubs into social service organizations. My work continues and this is not a public relations exercise. It’s a public work I’m part of,” Kamal said in a video.

Even Priyanka Chopra expressed her interest to be part of the initiative, which Kamal calls a national building exercise. Priyanka said every action we take will be important. I want a clean India. It’s time to clean up our act.
