Rajinikanth-Kamal Haasan Film Shelved? What Went Wrong?

Kamal Haasan Rajinikanth KH×RK Shelving Rumours

A few months ago, the highly anticipated promo for Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth’s reunion project tentatively titled KH×RK and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, was released and went viral on social media, raising massive expectations for the film.

Earlier reports suggested that once Rajinikanth completes Jailer 2 and his project under RKFI, which is Dharman, directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, the shooting for this most awaited film would begin.

As everyone knows, DMK’s Udhayanidhi Stalin from Red Giant Movies had launched this project and planned to make it one of the costliest films in Kollywood.

While everything was going according to plan, Vijay unexpectedly won the state elections and emerged as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

Subsequently, the DMK lost power and Red Giant Movies’ dominance slowly began to fade in Kollywood. Rumours also began spreading that Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan’s reunion project would not take off.

Even though there was initial speculation that Kamal Haasan‘s RKFI production house was planning to take control of the KH×RK project with an official announcement coming soon, it now seems the film has been shelved.

According to the fresh reports due to unforeseen circumstances, the highly anticipated reunion project has been shelved and there is no possibility of it happening in the future.

In response to this speculation, many Kollywood fans are terribly upset, saying that this is a dream project for the entire audience and that another production house should come forward to back it.

Ultimately, all of this remains social media speculation and there has been no official update yet. Therefore, it remains to be seen whether KH×RK will remain as a shelved project or if another production house will step in to produce it in the future.
