Following the terrible failures of Indian 2 and Thug Life, Kamal Haasan has still not officially announced his next project and for the past few months, he has concentrated mostly on his political career.
Earlier, before the terrible failure of Thug Life, Kamal Haasan announced two projects such as an action entertainer directed by the Anbariv stunt masters and a political thriller with H Vinoth. However, both projects were shelved due to various reasons, leaving the actor with no solo lead projects in his lineup.
Meanwhile, the shooting of Kalki 2 was also paused for unknown reasons. Kamal Haasan was committed to playing the main antagonist in the film and there is still no clarity regarding when shooting will resume.
On the other hand, the highly anticipated reunion project of Kamal Haasan and Rajinikant tentatively titled KHxRK and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar was also put on hold. Sources suggest that the makers are now struggling to mount the film and are looking for a new production house, as Red Giant Movies, owned by DMK party leader Udhayanidhi Stalin, has lost its power following the political shift in Tamil Nadu.
In this scenario, fresh reports suggest that Kamal Haasan, after a short break, has now returned to business and is listening to scripts from directors to re-establish his lineup. Furthermore, information indicates that the actor has already locked in director SU Arun Kumar to helm his next project.
Reportedly, a look test for this project took place recently in Chennai and Kamal Haasan’s RKFI production house posted an image of it, officially confirming the return of the actor under this collaboration with SU Arun Kumar.
In response to this update, while some people on social media suggest that Kamal Haasan has finally found a proper director to make his comeback, praising SU Arun Kumar as a solid filmmaker, others feel negatively.
They point to the theatrical failure of director S U Arun Kumar’s last film, Veera Dheera Sooran, claiming that instead of collaborating with an offbeat director, Kamal Haasan should have teamed up with a more promising mainstream director to make a comeback, as they feel that the success of this project is very crucial for the actor.
However, it remains to be seen how the Kamal Haasan and SU Arun Kumar project is going to take shape and whether Kamal Haasan will make a massive comeback with this film upon its release.
