Kantara: Chapter 1 is gearing up for release next month and promises to showcase Indian culture on a grand scale. The makers have built a massive temple set on a hill, designed to represent different decades with artistic inputs from across India.
Artisans from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, West Bengal, and Telangana have contributed to the temple creation. The film will also feature a large war sequence involving thousands of people, adding to its scale and spectacle for audiences worldwide.
According to viral posts, the prequel’s runtime is nearly 2 hours and 45 minutes. The story is reportedly set around 300 CE during the Kadamba dynasty and will explore the Banavasi forests, rooted in the Daiva tradition, with Rishab Shetty playing a Naga Sadhu.
Trade circles are hopeful that Kantara: Chapter 1 could revive box office fortunes after recent disappointments like War 2 and Coolie. With no blockbuster crossing Rs. 1,000 crores this year, all eyes are on this ambitious prequel.
The makers are also planning an English-dubbed release to reach international markets. With higher investment and strong buzz after the success of the 2022 film, expectations are sky-high to see whether audiences will once again embrace Kantara.
