Karthi Explains His Disaster – Calls It an Experiment

Though Karthi is a Tamil hero, it was not known how and when he got absorbed into the Telugu audience liking. Here is what he says about his journey with Telugu films.

Cheliya which was dubbed from Tamil film was actually a disaster at Telugu box-office, and apparently, Karthi was prepared for it. He says that Maniratnam himself told him that this film is an experiment where the hero is ought to be hated.

Not just Maniratnam but Dil Raju who brought the rights for distribution of the film in Telugu revealed in an interview that he understood that this film isn’t gonna work here with Telugu audience.

Anyways, filmmakers should experiment on new subjects we’d say. Coming to Karthi, he says he loves to learn and dub in Telugu like he did for Oopiri to convey the emotion as he wanted and thanked Telugu audience for accepting him here.
