KCR wants Bangkok-type super highways for Hyd

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao has turned his focus on to putting check to the increasing traffic woes in the Hyderabad city. The state government is chalking out a plan for the next 2 years to solve this problem with an integrated road network linking the existing roads and constructing skyways with multiple layers of flyovers all over the city. KCR announced his grand plans to spend Rs.25,000 crore to Rs.30,000 crore phase-wise.

Telangana government has roped in one of the international infrastructure majors, LEA Associates, South Asia to work on Bangkok-type super highways for the twin cities. The primary focus is to identify the high-density corridors of Hyderabad and come out with a plan to prioritize them.

Government has also focused on easing traffic in all the roads leading to different districts from Hyderabad. There are several instances of huge traffic jams from Uppal to the city while coming from Warangal, LB Nagar while coming from Vijayawada and then the Panjagutta-Ameerpet road.The government is also planning to regulate the traffic by regulating timings for different activities to reduce traffic congestion.
