KCR's intelligent counter to Jaitley's punch

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is always keen on getting relaxation of FRBM norms by the center so as to get more loans for his ambitious projects. However Central government is sitting on the issue as similar demands may crop up from other states and cause new headaches.

KCR took up this issue once again with Union Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley in his recent visit to Delhi. However Jaitley remarked why a wealthy state (as KCR claims) like Telangana need more loans. KCR came up with an intelligent argument that giving more loans should be a worry for bankrupt and deficit budget states while rich states like Telangana can afford to bear the budget and can also repay the loans.

He took to the notice of Jaitley that several international agencies are interested to fund various programs of Telangana. KCR should be aware that even the wealthy state is facing funds crunch these days, and go for more loans may not be a wise option always.
