KGF 2: Thokkukuntu Povale Mode In Bollywood

KGF 2 is headed for theatrical release on the 14th of this month and it is well on course to get off to a sensational start at the pan-India box office. The film is on track to register a ‘highest after pandemic’ opening day tally. The film has now brushed aside a mainstream Bollywood film, Jersey.

Initially, it was announced that Jersey will be releasing on 15th April, a day after KGF 2’s release. But the makers of Jersey have announced that they are postponing the release by a week.

Bollywood trade analysts opine that it is a wise move from the makers of Jersey to make way for KGF 2 which is on “Thokkukuntu Povale” mode, given the advance bookings it is registering in the Hindi belt.

“Bachchan Pandey fell prey to Kashmir Files and Attack fell prey to RRR as they released exactly a week post these two box office blockbusters. Even Jersey would have ended up as a disaster had it released on the very next day as KGF 2’s. The makers were wise to postpone the release. But is a week’s delay enough?” an analyst commented.

There are reports that KGF 2 might well open with Rs 40+ crores nett. A few say the film might even mint Rs 50+ crores nett. If that really is the case, KGF 2 could well end up as a box office monster.
