‘I knew it’s a waste film’ – Jagapathi

At around the time Jagapathi was basking in the success of his negative role in ‘Legend’ came ‘Lingaa’ with Rajnikanth, which disappointed the trade big time. Jagapathi says he knew from the first day that this film is going to be a big flop and it’s a waste film he signed.

Then why did he do that movie? ‘It’s because it is a Rajnikanth’s movie and he couldn’t say no to him. It’s a good feeling to be with him and there is some positivity around Rajni,’ says Jagapathi. This was film put Rajini in bad light post release due to it’s poor show at box office. Financiers did several protests for compensation on the losses demanding Rajini’s help.

Coming to changing his career pathway, Jagapathi observes that he had been doing special roles even when he was prolifically doing hero roles like in ‘Anthapuram’, ‘Dongata’ etc. But ‘Legend’ removed the hero tag successfully though he did several character roles before his film with Balayya industry failed to see it says Jagapathi.
