Quality Doesn’t Matter When You Spice It Up!

Sad, but proved to be true unfortunately by one of the skilled directors of the film industry, Ram Gopal Varma. There are a lot of fans for his work as an impactful director, but clearly, the skill is going in the wrong way and the surprising run of his most controversial film is just an example for that.

Surprisingly, RGV who can hardly pull the audience to theaters crossed two other biopics of the Telugu leaders, NTR Mahanayakudu and Yatra at the US box office with a good cast and good production values straight in 2 days. While the first managed to get $216,458 the later biopic of YSR collected $215,458. Now Lakshmi’s NTR bagged $218,700 by Saturday.

While everyone thought the horrible casting and cheap production values would get down the film, the controversy created worked well in favor. Saturday Lakshmi’s NTR collected 58K, not a great number but is a decent sum for a small film. Also, commercially it’s a super hit for the distributor as the film was bought for a low price.
