Kushi opened reasonably well at the Tollywood box office. The film had a fairly good first weekend and it has entered the profits zone in the USA already. In the Nizam region, it is close to breakeven. This is a decent runmber in these two territories.
But for the overall breakeven, the film needed a strong run at the box office in the second week as well. However, this hope has been quashed completely now.
New releases Jawan and Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty have opened on a very good note. Jawan is sweeping the mass belts in the Telugu state as well and Shetty is picking up big time in the plexes.
There is a like-for-like replacement for Kushi in MSMP and moreover, it has a better entertainment factor as well. This will essentially mean that Kushi is no longer the choice for the vast majority of the Telugu audience. So any last hope of breakeven in all territories is completely out of the equation.
