Legendary Director Set For Digital Debut

The buzz doing the rounds in Kollywood circles suggests that legendary and visionary director, Mani Ratnam is all set to jump into the digital platform. He is reportedly backing an anthology series. and guess what, Amazon Prime Video will reportedly be the partner.

Getting further into details, the series is said to be based on the theme of ‘Navarasas’. A different director will helm each of those. The names of Gautam Vasudev Menon, Aravind Swamy, Karthick Naren, and Bejoy Nambiar are already doing the rounds as part of the project. Additionally, Mani Ratnam himself will be directing one episode. It will be interesting to see who else joins the team.

The idea behind the anthology series is to take care of the cine workers who have been hit by the coronavirus pandemic. Not only will they be part of the project, but they will also get a share of the income generated through the show.

Mani Ratnam is currently busy with the epic undertaking Ponniyan Selvan. It is the biggest project in his career. The shooting is now on halt due to the coronavirus crisis. His last film was the successful Chekka Chivantha Vaanam (Nawab in Telugu).
