Like Honour Killings, Like MAA elections Prestige

Some primitive practices like honour killings are still rampant in some parts of our country even in this modern era marking the importance of prestige issues. People go to great lengths to keep up their reputation. Though the comparison seems to be a bit weird and out of place, MAA elections have turned more a prestige issue for the two opponent parties involved in the elections.

Many members on both sides opine that MAA isn’t a monetarily beneficial institution for its office bearers and in one of the press meet, Lakshmi Manchu opined that it is a thankless job. If it is both non-profitable and thankless job, why the cinema biggies are literally waging war and taking sides?

After continuous defamation comments and dirty internal politics, the question which comes by default to any outsider is, is there real integrity between people in the film industry! Do they feel like fraternity? Like honour killings for prestige, artists aren’t feeling that it is a stigma within their fraternity to murder each others’ reputation. Somehow, this time MAA elections have become murky. What say?
