Lokesh Kanagaraj Destroying His Brand

Lokesh Kanagaraj is the brightest of the young lot of filmmakers in Tamil cinema. His latest outing, Leo, featuring Tamil star Thalapthy Vijay opened to mixed reviews.

Coming to the point, Lokesh’s post-release interviews pertaining to Leo are drawing a lot of flak.

In his latest interview, Lokesh said “No one knows the real story of Parthiban and Leo. Whatever you see in the film is just Mansoor’s perception of the whole story. It might not actually be the real story of Leo”. He implied that the whole flashback of Leo, whatever is shown in the film could be fake.

This comment drew an amusing response from netizens. “Lokesh Kanagaraj interviews post release are doing more harm for himself than good. He should accept that the film is bad & silently move on to his next instead of justifying #Leo’s weak screenplay with fake flashbacks & #LCU connect explanation fan theories!.” A netizen commented.

“Does Lokesh think the audience are fools. If the whole film is based on a fake perception, then what is the point of making it? Would he have said this is fake if the film received unanimously positive reviews? This cover up act will only destroy his credibility and image” another netizen pointed out.

There is an evident uproar against Lokesh after implying that whatever shown in Leo could be a fake story. This isn’t the kind of approach one would expect from a highly rated filmmaker as thinking whatever he says will be lapped up by the audience is sheer negligence and overconfidence.
