Luck Smiled In the Form of Shankar for This Asst. Director

It’s really hard for aspiring directors to join as assistant directors for acclaimed directors like Rajamouli, Shankar etc as these directors have a closed group and their team is pretty much locked.

Unlike in the case of VV Vinayak and Puri Jagannadh who are open to new talent and regularly take new directors, there is little chance for outsiders or newcomers to make an entry in Rajamouli or Shankar’s team. Nevertheless, S. Murali Manohar turned really lucky.

It’s not just the luck, his short film ‘Karnamotcham’ won National Award and when Shankar watched it, he joined the guy as his assistant director. No recommendations or whatsoever. Pure talent has got him the chance to become one amongst the chosen ones. A long way to go, Murali Manohar. All the best!
