MAA Association Elections Takes New Twist

The Executive Committee meeting of the Movie Artists Association (MAA) has been held in virtual mode the last week. The decisions of the meeting are not made public. A section of media published that the EC meeting resolved to hold elections on September 12th.

MAA has issued a clarification in this regard. “EC meeting resolved to hold AGMs on 22.8.2021 but deferred the decision on elections,” they clarified indicating that the suspense around the conducting of the elections is still around. It is a custom to conduct MAA elections in September.

The press release also says that the EC has decided to revoke the acceptance of the resignation of Dr. Rajasekhar as Executive Vice President of MAA. It has to be seen how Prakash Raj, Manchu Vishnu, and other contestants will respond to this decision about the elections.

There are rumors for a long time that the Executive committee wants to defer the elections in the name of non-conducive conditions for the conduct of physical voting.
