Mahesh Babu with Mamitha Baiju: Is It Really Cooking?

Mahesh Babu fans recently got excited over reports that Anil Ravipudi could direct the superstar’s next film after SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi. The combination looked interesting, especially because Anil has a strong commercial track record.

The timing also brought up the so-called Rajamouli curse. There is a belief that stars often struggle with the film they do immediately after a Rajamouli project. Some fans felt Anil’s proven entertainer formula could help Mahesh avoid that problem.

However, Anil Ravipudi quickly shut down the reports. He called the news “completely false and untrue” and asked fans not to believe or spread such rumours.

That should have ended the speculation. But fresh industry chatter is keeping some fans interested.

Tamil industry circles are reportedly claiming that Anil is working on another script while shooting for his current film January 12 Vidudala with Venkatesh and Kalyan Ram. There is also talk that Mamitha Baiju is being considered as the female lead.

This has led some fans to believe that the original Mahesh report may not be completely impossible in the future. Their argument is that if a project is still at a very early stage, neither the actor nor the director would reveal anything, especially while Mahesh is fully focused on Varanasi.

Mahesh’s immediate priority is Varanasi, while Anil has his own commitments. But there’s no denying that after a heavy film like Varanasi, Mahesh may opt for a lighthearted entertainer with Anil Ravipudi.

For now, though, it remains only a possibility. Whether Mahesh and Anil actually team up after Varanasi is something only time will tell.
