Since morning, reports have been doing the rounds on social media claiming that Mahesh Babu is planning to work with Anil Ravipudi for his next film after SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi.
The reports immediately excited Mahesh Babu fans. Anil Ravipudi has a 100% success record so far. Many fans felt he could be the right director for Mahesh after Varanasi.
The speculation also became interesting because of the so-called Rajamouli curse. There is a belief in Tollywood that a star’s film immediately after a Rajamouli movie always flops. Mahesh fans were therefore hoping that Anil Ravipudi could break that jinx with his impeccable box-office record.
However, Anil Ravipudi has now personally put an end to the speculation. Responding to the reports on social media, Anil said:
“Superstar Mahesh Babu Garu has always been a dear person to me. I have immense love and respect for him, always. Whatever news is currently circulating is completely false and untrue. Please don’t believe or spread such rumors.”
The Tollywood PR machinery has also issued a clarification, asking fans not to believe rumors or unverified reports about a possible Mahesh Babu-Anil Ravipudi collaboration.
So, for now, there is no Mahesh Babu-Anil Ravipudi film in the picture, at least according to the director himself.
However, some fans are still refusing to completely believe the clarification. They feel something could be cooking behind the scenes and that the team may simply not want to reveal anything as it will be too early, especially when the entire focus is currently on Varanasi.
For now, though, the official word is clear: the Mahesh Babu-Anil Ravipudi project is only a rumor.
