Kamal Back in News With Year-Old Harassment Allegations

We aren’t talking about Universal Star Kamal Haasan but his namesake another Kamal, a Malayalam director who is now back in the buzz when year-old sexual harassment allegations have surfaced now in the form of a legal notice.

A young actress had alleged that she was sexually harassed by him several times during the making of ‘Aami’ in 2018, a biopic on popular writer Kamala Das. She also said that he promised her the lead role in one of his films but never kept his word. It’s quoted that the young actress said, “He is a wolf in a sheep’s skin.”

Refuting the allegations, director Kamal thinks that it was a baseless allegation. He accepted that he indeed received a legal notice a year ago, but kept waiting for the next step from those who slapped the legal notice on him.

While the director who is also the chairman of Kerala State Chalchitra Academy sees this as planned propaganda, a legal report was said to be sent to him recently on 26th April.
