Man held for impersonating TV artist

Gopinath, a second-year BCom student from Khammam was arrested by the Hyderabad police. The accused created a fake profile of TV artiste Sagar Naidu of Mogali Rekulu fame and had been approaching women and chatting with them as the actor. A case was registered under Sections 419 and 420 of the IPC and Section 6 c(d) of the IT Act on him by the complaint of Sagar.

Gopinath even called for donations for various social activities he is involved in from his profile. Police then laid a trap to the accused as they approached him online telling they were interested in making a donation. Not knowing all this, Gopinath came down to collect the money and was arrested. During interrogation, Gopinath confessed that he committed the crime due to financial crisis.
