Suriya Walks Out, Nani to Join Mani Ratnam’s Film?

Mani Ratnam's Rumoured Dhanush-Nani Multi-Starrer

Following the terrible failure of Thug Life, director Mani Ratnam is now directing a film titled Inji Vellam, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles. According to reports, the shooting of Inji Vellam is nearing its final stages and the film will hit the screens in early 2027.

Although there have been no official updates on Mani Ratnam‘s next film following Inji Vellam, early speculations suggested that he is planning to do a dual-hero film with Dhanush and Suriya playing the lead roles.

While Kollywood audiences started celebrating this speculation and dreaming with huge expectations about how the film would take shape, given that Suriya and Dhanush are two of the biggest stars in the industry and how Mani Ratnam would handle them, shockingly, it seems Suriya has now stepped out of the project due to certain reasons.

According to recent reports, following discussions, Suriya was not interested in doing this project and Mani Ratnam is now planning to bring in Nani as a replacement for Suriya.

In response to this speculation, even though some people were highly disappointed by Suriya stepping out of this anticipated collaboration, many Dhanush fans and Kollywood audiences are celebrating Nani’s arrival to the project.

They suggest that if this project materializes and Dhanush and Nani act together, it will emerge as one of the most anticipated projects in South India and have a huge possibility to do wonders at the box office. Consequently, they are now urging Mani Ratnam to make this collaboration happen and requesting him to deliver a solid film with them.

Ultimately, all these are just social media speculations and there are still no official updates on this project. It remains to be seen whether Nani will join this multi-starrer film and star alongside Dhanush under the direction of Mani Ratnam and if he does, how the project will take shape in the future.
