US Box-Office: Very Slow!

Three movies came this Friday and all of them seem to be treading leisurely like a tortoise, slow and steady, slower and slower. ‘Manmadhudu 2‘ came with expectations and it actually depended on the word of mouth.

However, Nag’s movie has collected just $80 K from the premiere shows and a total of $129,664 so far. That means it has been underperforming for the kind of pre-release buzz it has garnered.

On the other hand, Sampoornesh Babu’s ‘Kobbari Matta’ didn’t spring any surprises collecting just peanuts, i.e., $363 and not to mention Anasuya’s ‘Kathanam’ having grossed $116. Of course, there were no expectations of either of them in the US.

So, all in all, it was a very slow weekend in the US, so far. Going with the talk on Friday’s releases, we don’t expect something miraculous to happen in the coming days, anyway.
