Mayabazar to be screened at centenary fete of Indian cinema

As part of the centenary celebrations of Indian cinema slated to kick-start Sep 21 in Chennai, several classic will be screened for public free of cost. As many as nine classic films from different languages of southern cinema will be screened.

Telugu cinema’s greatest film Mayabazar has also been chosen to be screened along with few Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam classics. The digitally restored version of of Mayabazar will be screened for public.

The screening of films starts today and will continue till Sep 24. All the films will be screened in one of the biggest multiplexes in Chennai. It is definitely a proud moment for Telugu cinema to see Mayabazar feature in this list. Earlier this year, in a poll conducted by CNN-IBN, Mayabazar was voted the best Indian film ever.
